When Tommy was in fifth grade, he turned down a really special academic opportunity and instantly regretted it. After that, he did a lot of thinking about why he turned down the opportunity. That question led to another question. Do other students do the same? The answer, in the form of survey results, is startling.
Tommy Butrus is an eighth-grade student at Mountain Brook Junior High where he is a member of the MBJH TED-Ed Club. In his free time, he likes to play lacrosse, research the complexities of the brain, and participate in Boy Scouts.
