In this talk, Shaun Mitchell discusses his experience as a white teacher teaching African-American Literature in an urban classroom, and specifically, what he learned from taking on this job. He shares stories from his personal life to bridge connections to the learning he made in his professional life, all of which ultimately made him a more culturally responsible human being.
