Shalini started her talk by sharing intimate details from her rollercoaster life. Having a fairytale beginning after getting married to an army officer, four years post that the destiny took an undecided turn and she lost him. He was martyred after fighting terrorists on the battlefield. The incident did not bog down her spirits for long, and she herself decided to join the army. The journey was not easy but absolutely worth it, as she cleared the exam and after six months, got commissioned as an officer .After going through a number of emotional and physical trauma, she again started working to emerge as a true warrior, a hero of her story and she truly did. She participated in a beauty pageant and emerged as the winner. She won and became Mrs. India 2017, which as she described was one of the most exciting, humbling and unexpected moments of her life.
