He took the limelight in the industry by, at age 29, becoming the founder and chairman of a full scale investment bank in the United States, also claiming the honor of being the first Muslim to head an investment bank on Wall Street.

In particular, his stints as the Federal Advisor to the Pakistan government, and a similar role to the state of New Jersey exemplify his prowess in his field. It is due in no small part to his efforts that a purely Islamic banking benchmark index was adopted by Wall Street.
