From a man who says that Bengaluru will be unlivable by 2020, we hear solutions to the water worries of not just today, but also of tomorrow. Dr TVR, has been constantly working towards the well being of the people and of the ecology simultaneously. This talk aims at empower and enlightening everyone that ecology and people need to go hand in hand for the betterment of humanity.
Dr. T. V. Ramachandra is the co-ordinator of Energy and Wetlands Research Group, and Convener of of Environmental Information System at Center for Ecological Studies, IISC Bengaluru . He is passionate in his work and has held various positions across the field over his career. He is enthusiastic in his search for knowledge and has published over 272 research papers, 57 book chapters, as well as 17 books. Some of his well known accomplishments is establishing an active school in research in the area of energy and the environment. He has received various awards recognizing the work he has done for the area including the Johny Biosphere Award for Ecology and Environment (2004), Satish Dawan Young Scientist Award (2007) Namma Bangalorean (2016) to name a few. Dr. Ramachandra’s main research interests are in the areas of energy systems, renewable energy, energy conservation, aquatic ecosystems, bio diversity, and ecological modelling.
