Dan Cohen is a junior at Homestead High. Secretly, he is actually a Timelord who has plagiarized his entire speech from a future Homestead TEDx Event. When he’s not saving the universe or studying for his APs he loves reading, writing, and going vegan for 3 hours at a time. Although most people think that he is allergic to dairy, the truth is that he is simply made of so many cheesy jokes that eating dairy is cannibalism. He is extremely humbled and honored to be speaking to you at this year’s Homestead TEDx event and sincerely hopes you enjoy.
Dan will be talking about the use and abuse of passion in the modern consciousness. Particularly at our age we see push towards following your passion to such a degree that it almost defines who we are. However, what one unfortunately finds more often than not is that when the aim of his passion is achieved the person is lost. If he has achieved his passion he has achieved his purpose and must now face the terrifying question "what now?" Through the course of our talk we will dive, examine, and explore the issue on a personal and holistic scale hoping to discover the nature of our minds and a comforting answer to a scary question. Hope you enjoy!
