Bhakti Sharma: Young Sarpanch-Rural roots and reformation

ne of the 100 most influential Women Bhakti Sharma is the Sarpanch of Barkhedi Abdullah, Dist. Bhopal, M.P. In 2010, Ms. Bhakti Sharma was elected the president of the students' union of Nutan Girls College from where she did her Masters in political science. Having decided to pursue full-time social worker, in November, 2014, when she learned that the post of sarpanch had been reserved for the general category women, Ms. Bhakti Sharma decided to take the electoral plunge.
