Hi everyone. My name is Ayman, I’m going to speak about what makes a good life. So what is a good life mean to you? Many people, you ask will give you the same answer. It's either money or good finances. Well, there are many different opinions on what could make a good life. For example, for some people it could be knowing that yourself dependent, whereas for others it could be having someone. You can depend on. Being a 16 year old. Growing up here in UAE, I lived a very privileged, privileged life. I've never actually had to worry about living a good life. Naturally, a future is something everybody thinks about. However, that is not the kind of good life I wish to speak of today. For me, there is two factors that have affected my life by a considerable amount. The first one I'd like to talk about is discipline. Having a sense of control. But for someone like me, the epitome of procrastination. These words have helped me channel my way through to make a better life as a consequence of spending a large part of my days in COVID. My days would rapidly go by without me realizing what I was doing. I was afraid of someone asking me what I spent my week or day doing because I honestly had no answer to give. All I remember was that I slept for eight hours. But the rest of the 16 hours, that was a mystery between the past and God. At the end of the day, when I'd sit down and it was time to sleep, I was not tired, nor was I sleepy. That's when I realized all I needed was discipline and a sense of control. We don't have to sit around and wait for someone or something to come happen to us in order to make a change. Living in this fast paced world, we all simply have no time to lose. It's a rewarding feeling. It truly is. However, my second one is by far superior. My parents, they're kind and unfailingly generous people. They're the reason I'm standing here today speaking to all of you. They're my inspiration to lead a better life. They're my twin pillars without whom I could not stand. And I'm proud to be their child. But my ultimate inspiration comes from my mother. She is the dazzling woman from whom I receive my name and my life's blood. She never gave me any idea that I couldn't be whoever I wanted to be or do whatever I wanted to do. She filled her house with love, books and fun. Determined in her efforts to help us achieve role models from Jane Austen to Eudora Welty. But what she didn't realize was that the person I wanted to be the most was her. So my mother brings me happiness and she helps me achieve the ideal good life. So I would ask all of you to take a second out of your fast moving lives and think about the things that make you happy and the people that help you achieve a good life. That's all. Thank you.
